Col Maior al contrario

Normally, the ascent to Col Maior is done in the "clockwise direction" by taking the Col Maior signposted road that meets on the left after the Curiedi soccer field, climbing from Fusea, then descending from the summit to the peat bog and then continuing by tractor-trail and path to Fusea and then to Marcelie and Mt. Spin. In this case, the reverse route is proposed. Depart from the usual parking lot before the Casanova tunnel. Go up first to Fusea, then reach Curiedi and then continue following the signs for Buttea, just before the junction for the Fornas farmhouse, take a tractorable road to the left, after a steep descent start to climb, first through meadows and then, having reached the peat bog, through sparse beech woods until you reach the junction below Col Amior; note that in this case the route is always rideable, if you exclude 2 short stretches.

From here, bike on your back or push, you quickly reach the scenic summit. The descent begins (short S2+ sections), which, having passed the fork reached earlier, continues along the south-facing path that is normally done uphill by pushing bike until it returns to the paved road traveled on the outward journey; after a few meters, near an icon, take a path to the left. The singletrack takes us without excessive difficulty and with a good bottom to Fusea. Continue to descend briefly along the outward road until you meet on the right the road that with some ups and downs reaches the locality Somp lis Voris (after the first climb turn back towards Fusea and the Sernio, the view is really worth it).

Shortly before the end of the road take a nice path to the left that descends rapidly through the forest until you come out in open ground in the locality of Cjarandes (again, a spatial panorama), at this point follow a road that descends (after a bit paved) to a small house that you leave on the left, descending freely through meadows until you catch a glimpse of a second house. Here on the left a gate would allow you to take a singletrack that descends along the creek. We preferred to keep to the right and descend by a gradually pu' evident track that ends at the Pieve di S. Maria, from where, by the access road, we would quickly reach the parking lot.

Obviously also this tour su can be concatenated with other itineraries, in particular from the parking lot you can reach Zuglio, go up to Sezza and just before Marcelie take the new forest road that climbs eastward, when the ascent flattens out take a tractorable road on the left (push sections), which takes us to Forca Navantes, from here you can reach with a short paved section the saddle called Plan d'Aur or Piche di Cuar before sella Duron and then by path (many stones) go down to Marcelie and from here quickly reach Fusea and reconnect to the itinerary just described.
