Monte Breda
Magnificent excursion in the Brescia Valle Sabbia, along an unparalleled natural balcony over Lake Idro, in an area that combines wild environment and fortified structures of great historical importance.
Leaving the car near the shore of Lake Idro, we travel about 4km of provincial road until we reach the small village of Anfo where the climb begins. The climb is completely asphalted, always accompanied by an excellent panorama, with little traffic. After about 12km we reach the "Rosa Baremone" refuge at mt 1450 altitude, now begins a small dirt stretch that will become a path until we reach Forte Cima Ora where you can enjoy an excellent panorama. We retrace the previous track as far as where it flattens out when, at a wide bend, we enter the path to the left. A few minutes with the MTB pushing, a few ups and downs and you arrive at the most adrenaline-filled, exposed and delicate section where attention must be maximum.
In the last 10 minutes to reach the cross and start the long-awaited descent we will have to carry the bike on our shoulders, but the view and the single track that await us repay the effort. The first part of the trail is very exposed, quite technical and with high gradients; as we descend it becomes faster. Reaching a junction we take the path to the right that goes back to our starting point, here the trail becomes not very technical, all flow and very fast.
Time on the move: 3hrs - bikeability: 95% - suitable for MTB XC/AM.
