Colle della Bicocca
Departure from Casteldelfino where there are several parking lots. Descent on mule track to the hamlet of Torrette where a very hard climb starts between the houses and intersects with the dirt road coming from the right. The dirt road is quite hard until we reach several granges where we can finally catch our breath. We climb to the 1650 meters of the hamlet Tenou with its small church.
Now on a dirt road we lose about 200 meters of elevation gain until we intercept the asphalt road that goes up to the Sampeyre Pass. This is the most boring section of the tour, but from the Colle di Sampeyre we find the dirt road that practically on the flat takes us to the Colle della Bicocca. In this stretch remarkable views of Pelvo d'Elva, Chersogno, Marchisa and on the other side, if not covered by clouds, Monviso. From the Colle della Bicocca starts our descent, which goes all downhill on single track to the hamlet of Chiesa. The trail down to Chiesa is endless, technical to the point. You will arrive down satisfied with the smile of better days!
From Chiesa first on asphalt and then on trail we return to Casteldelfino. More information and photos can be found here.
