Valle Varaita - Colle di Luca

CYCLOALPINEERING light itinerary, meaning that there are several sections where you need to push the bikes. Departure from Casteldelfino where we climb to the hamlet of Bertines. Then begins a long traverse up and down where there are pushing sections until the hamlet of Pui. From Pui starts a quiet dirt road with negligible gradient until a fork where we take a left. Now we climb more steeply with several pushing sections or shoulder if you prefer up to Col di Luca. We have to climb another 100/150 m of elevation gain and then finally descend on a path in the pastures to Lake Luca.

You lose altitude always among pastures until you reach the alevè forest where you will be intoxicated by the scent of stone pines. You pass several Grange where if there are cows grazing you must watch out for dogs guarding the herd. We descend further to the hamlet of Caldane where there is the Delfin dal Pianhol Refuge. With a short asphalt stretch we climb back to Casteldelfino.
