Lunga discesa sterrata tra Grietz e Arzere
Nice long dirt descent between Grietz and Arzere. The long descent can be divided into several parts.
The first very short one from Grietz descends to the small road below along a narrow path. Watch out for the steep step at the end of the little path. It presents a very rocky bottom and comes right in the middle of the small road also traveled by vehicles. If in doubt, best to study the passage from below first.
The second part is a long descent on beautiful little roads that pass through magnificent hamlets and lead down to Valdiporro. I would say elementary and relaxing. From Valdiporro the most interesting part begins. Initially a narrow path full of bends leading down into the vajo and then up it (a few meters walk near the bottom of the vajo). As a difficulty I would say M2. After the ascent out of the vajo one encounters the only really tricky section: the trail gets very narrow between large boulders and rocks. The bottom is strewn with boulders and roots. For 20-30 meters it is really problematic to stay in the saddle. Beware that falling here means hurting yourself against the rocks and definitely damaging the bike. We preferred to push it: 20-30 meters in all.
Past this section, you ride on a very long, very smooth trail. The path in some places is quite narrow but does not have any challenging passages. Thus you arrive in the vicinity of Corbiolo, after a somewhat strenuous ascent. As difficulty I would say M1. A few meters of paved highway and you turn right along an easy grassy mule track that quickly leads to the vicinity of Arzere.
In the end, at least for me, it was a nice "surprise" in an area I thought I already knew very well.
