Monte Poieto - Purito
We open the new season with a route not too challenging, but with places and trails difficult to forget; we are in the province of Bergamo, more precisely, Albino-Fiorano al Serio area.
As usual a roundup of technical data so you won't be caught unprepared!
Distance: 29km - moving time: 3 hours - total elevation gain: 1400m - maximum elevation: 1400m - bikeability: 99% - suitable for MTB AM/ENDURO.
Departing from Fiorano, the climb starts immediately on asphalt until reaching after 1km the town of SanFermo, it continues with a first quite steep section on a cemented road, then after about a kilometer it goes on asphalt road with an even gradient.
After about 8 km and after passing through the hamlets of Orezzo and Platz, having arrived in Ganda, the toughest, but most scenic part of the climb begins; the road alternates between cemented and path with high gradient sections.
Upon reaching Mount Poieto you will have reached the first of the day's two peaks.
After a short break we will immediately start with a very fun single track, prepared for downhill, but completely doable also for MTB AM, which will accompany us to the paved road to Selvino, where we will make the last effort of the day to reach the top of Mount Purito.
A really enjoyable place for the whole family; its breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, forest walks and sensory trails will really leave you speechless!
After admiring these beautiful places, it is time to start getting serious: a very long and varied descent will accompany us to Albino.
Initially the trail is very steep and on crumbly rock, requiring a lot of attention; but as you lose meters the boulders give way to beaten earth where you can leave the brakes and have fun like it was a bike park!
Once you reach Albino, take the provincial road that will take you to the starting point.
In our youtube channel, in addition to the full route, you will find both videos of the descent.
