Rifugio Antelao e San Dionisio
Antelao Refuge, San Dionisio and descent to Costa Piana.
Orbea Rise M20.
We were coming from Cibiana, so we entered the bike path at Venas. From here to Tai and then up to Pozzale via small roads and a short ST section.
From Pozzale to Rifugio Antelao via Tranego and Forcella Antracisa, e-bike all in the saddle, beautiful views.
Stop at the Refuge, return to Antracisa and then uphill on very nice Single Track and virtually all pedalable to the little church of San Dionisio. Beware, the direct trail from the Refuge to San Dionisio is not rideable uphill but is an interesting opportunity (S2) downhill.
Back at the fork just below the church we descend to the right on a wide track that gradually becomes a small road to the Costa Piana Refuge.
Here we avoided some ST sections that are blocked by landslides, local notes, and then the very first section of the ST of Ronco Pilon, which did not seem within the reach of one of the group members. Presumably S2, judging by the first few meters covered and then climbed again. We left the asphalt and resumed the small road on a wide curve at an elevation of 1370m, at a barn.
Without further hiccups to the Ronco Pilon barns, where we crossed the asphalt again at a fountain, then immediately abandoned it, continuing to the right on an excellent track that leads directly to the bike path at Valle di Cadore.
We did not do the Chiarada descent because, too bad, it is still blocked by the damage caused by Vaia, local notes.
Instead we did a not-so-short digression to Rio Vallesina, which I eliminated from the GPX track because it does not seem feasible to rejoin the trails on the other side.
Overall a nice scenic ride, with no technical difficulties, max a few S1 sections downhill and very few push jumps, by e-bike, uphill.
Enjoy. Paul.
