Forte del Muzzerone
The departure is just outside La Spezia towards Portovenere, follow the road towards Portovenere until the hamlet of Grazie, here you start to climb. The route with the track includes a visit to the fort of Muzzerone but you can also avoid it and continue to climb the road that at about 210 m altitude becomes unpaved. The road is rideable except for a few hundred meters at the end of the climb before arriving within sight of the hamlet of Campiglia. Before Campiglia the asphalt road is resumed until the village where a stop for a look at the panorama is a must.
The route continues to climb first in asphalt and then dirt with tough slopes, the fund however is good, arrived over 500 m the road descends for about 1 km and then resume climbing until the Telegraph hill. At Telegrafo there are several paths that branch off in different directions, ours is the one to the northwest that is flat in the first part and rideable, after about 1 km a paved nosedive begins until an altitude of about 400m where the rather wide path resumes maintaining the altitude until Volastra. Here you descend on asphalt to the village and return to La Spezia on the paved road overlooking the Cinque Terre.
I personally did the route with rather taxed 38mm wheels, but it can also be done with lighter tires. I won't describe the view because there are no words.
