Cornua Santa Croce

From Sori we go up towards Case Cornua passing through Canepa preferring it to the provincial road because it has much less traffic. When we reach the road of Montefasce we turn right and porcorsi a few hundred meters we take the path that leads to the summit of Mount Cornua. The environment is really beautiful with respectable views that sweep over the coast of the Gulf of Paradiso and inland over the pre-Apennines of Liguria.

From the summit we begin a nice descent to the houses of Calcinara, too bad that on the last part of the trail they are completing some work to set up a pipe that forces us to get off the bike and continue on foot for a stretch. From the small village we reach again the provincial road dela Montefasce but before continuing our tour we stop at the Osteria where we decide to eat. We set off again to face a sequence of downhill trails that will gradually increase in difficulty.

The first the Santa Croce, up to the junction of the path that leads to the summit of the peak, the second and more badass the direttissima that from the Sanctuary descends steeply and technically on the San Bernardo route. Two very beautiful paths all natural and always with a sea view.

For those who would like to avoid this last descent, which is definitely challenging, I recommend not going up to the Sanctuary, but continuing to the left on the Evi freeride and then taking the Caprioli trail, a combination that connects back to the last descent of our tour. Through alleys and stairways we reach the starting point with one last short but fun descent.
