Pizzo Grande e Monte Foldone
Spectacular ride for the excellent views, challenging climbs, and descent from flow to technical. With electric bike if you have good technique and leg you will have fun and pedal all the way around, with no electric taking into account about 400 meters of mixed push/pedal elevation gain.
From the Val Brembana bike path you climb on lightly trafficked asphalt to 'La Vetta'. First short uphill trail with technical passages. Mixed push-pedalable, alternatively take the asphalt road not far away. After a scenic dirt road and several challenging tears (for non-electric bike) the first descent begins: a very fun very easy up and down half trail (S1) that ends at Vettarola, where the last drinking fountain of the climb is also located.
After a rip on steep asphalt begins a trail, all pedalable up to Pizzo grande in Emtb while in mtb it will be mostly pushing, in about 500 meters of positive elevation gain arrives at the level of Pizzo Alto, last trail before the Pizzo Grande cross in mezza costa non-pedalable that in 5 minutes takes us to the Pizzo Grande cross (narrow trail be careful).
After admiring the view and having a bite to eat we return to the previous junction from which with a few uphill strains and downhill sections we arrive below Mount Sornadello.
Here the first steep enjoyable descent (S3/S4) takes us to Mt. Foldone. After the hut begins a short and nice technical descent with some fairly wide switchbacks but on challenging scree (S4). At the junction of Monte Castello Regina begins a long and beautiful descent not very steep and not very technical (S2 max) nice and fast (Beware of some exposed points off trail).
Follow the trail on other very nice descents with several very technical and very rocky passages (S3), then arrive at the attack of the last (called Taverna road) endless super descent of 400 meters (S3) of elevation gain and about 2.5km (10/20min): spectacular with several hairpin bends, rocks and technical passages. Final descent to Enel power plant, less rewarding because of artificial steps , but still challenging.
