PASSO BAREMONE - ROMANTERRA - PASSO DELLA BERGA - DOSSO SAMBUCO - VAIALE

Today we take you to the Baremone Pass area where we will tackle this climb compared by many as the little Stelvio. we will visit theFort of Cima Ora and descend to Bagolino. Up again to the Berga Pass and then down on the switchbacks to Dosso Sambuco.

Well let's leave the car in the village of Lavenone (BS) ( Free parking right in the center of the village ) and face the state road towards Idro then Anfo. ( Watch out for the tunnel: go through the side bike lane to be safe ). From Anfo we begin the approximately 11 kilometers of climbing to Baremone Pass ( 1,406 m ). A steady and really nice climb, on a little-traveled road. From the pass we can take a moment's rest via the Baremone hut. Once ready, we return to the pass and continue uphill to the Fort of Cima Ora with an impressive skyline from the Eridio to the mountains of Val Sabbia and Val Camonica, but also the Giudicarie. Now from the "roof" of the fort we return back on the trail done on the way out and turn right on mule track at the explanatory signs. Slight easy descent then once we reach the house with fence we turn left and immediately left again. Begins theTRAIL ROMANTERRA: immediately vertical and challenging with quite a lot of foliage even in summer, it shortly becomes more flow and rock n r'oll to end in Bagolino, just before the Romanterra Bridge. Now it's back to climbing and this time it will be harder. We are in the Caffaro Valley and this road leads to several residential homes. The slopes will immediately be hard and up to the 1,000 m mark it will be paved. Then it becomes dirt, cemented and gippable in the finish. Keep up because at about 1,340 m elevation we veer left onto a trail that is first cyclable and then less so. There will be about 15 to 20 minutes of push and shoulder before we reach Berga Pass ( 1,522 m ). Now one last short transfer and we will reach the entrance to theDOSSO SAMBUCO TRAIL.Here the situation changes from the previous descent. In fact we will have to have fun with several hairpin bends with a bottom, however, slightly bumpy, a right middle ground between rock and flow. Be sure not to take too much speed and enjoy the passes and any nose presses ( they are not mandatory ) until the end of the trail in Vaiale ( 840 m ). It is one of the most spectacular descents in the presence of the Corna Blacca and its main feature is that it descends with reduced gradient allowing you to reason about each passage. Now comes the sore point: from Vaiale we will descend the last 400 m or so of passive elevation gain on a secondary road. But ...that's okay ...every now and then you have to accept it considering the rest of the spectacular tour.

RECOMMENDED JOURNEY FOR MOUNTAIN BIKE and/or E-BIKE ALL MOUNTAIN ( I remember that there will be about 15/20 minutes of intense pushing )
