Monte Antola Tour Val Brevenna

Wide-ranging route that touches the summit of Mount Antola and Mount Buio riding the ridges of the Brevenna Valley. Some pushing sections. Recommended around May to see the blooms of the Daffodils.

Depart Casella station (end of the Genoa-Casella train line). Proceed on asphalt to Avosso and take the little-traveled road of Val Brevenna and climb first to Clavarezza (water) and continue on to the scenic road coming from Crocefieschi (alternative ascent). When you reach the Incisa pass you finally leave the asphalt and take the path to Monte Buio.

Initially steep but with good pedalable leg, then it flattens out and becomes very enjoyable, some tears and several more technical passages, a few walking steps but overall almost all pedalable by making the variant that cuts the steep climb before the benches.

From the benches short section with bike on shoulder to reach the panoramic summit of Monte Buio (highly recommended, but you can skip the summit with beautiful traverse).

Back on the path to Monte Antola begins a very beautiful section, always to be driven up and down, then only uphill as far as the leg allows us to then transfer the bike on the back or at the side for about 1.5 km until we reach the chapel under the summit of 'Antola. We make the traverse below the summit to take the path from behind we manage to pedal (with effort) to the summit.

We descend south, passing by the chapel again and continuing on a wide and fun trail until we reach the Antola refuge to refuel, don't think the climb is over.

From the refuge starts a path that crosses and goes to resume the main one that we follow with nice route, another short climb almost all rideable, then omitting the path that descends to Donnetta begins one of the most fun sections , always to be driven carefully but never too difficult in constant descent but with frequent ups and downs.

The trail runs along the ridge, but in several places it traverses along the coast, be careful not to take paths that descend too far.

So you will arrive at the houses of Crosi where we follow a dirt road for about 800 meters, then take a path (sometimes a bit closed by vegetation) that cuts and leads ala Frazione Piani. Passing between the houses we continue on a path that is now tiring due to the somewhat uneven ground and slightly uphill until we reach the Cappella della Banca. Once you reach below Monte Banca you can cut away from the summit following the dirt road, we instead to make sure we don't miss anything we climb with a short stretch with bike on our shoulders to the panoramic summit to take a beautiful path on the west ridge that takes us on the asphalt road to Cascinette. After about 800 mt at a bend we abandon the alfalto to follow a path that initially is very wide, then narrows and becomes very nice single track that makes us conclude in beauty with a series of hairpin bends that lead us to Avosso.
