Monte Prana da Metato

Short but intense cycle excursion among the southern Apuan Alps. Departing from Camaiore, you pass through the center, decorated for the occasion for the festivities, and shortly after start climbing up Via delle Silerchie. You intercept the "Sentiero delle frazioni Camaioresi" (yellow/white trail marker) and follow it in the direction of Metato. Once in the village, we take the steep cemented road that, hairpin bend after hairpin bend, with slopes that are always considerable, takes us to the Focetta di San Vincenzo. Now begins a stretch of shoulder biking to the summit of Mount Prana, where waiting for us are, as always, the imposing summit cross and a beautiful panorama. We begin our descent following the south/east ridge heading toward the Master's House. The trail continues to descend through the woods to Passo Lucese. A few meters of asphalt and we take the beautiful trail that runs along the southern slope of Prana taking us first to Torcigliano and then to Buchignano and finally back to Camaiore.
