Monte Gennaio

The first objective is the summit of Mount Gennaio or Uccelliera to then descend the very steep but doable north slope except for the initial few meters. Next after reaching the Cancellino pass we enjoy the beautiful descent on the Cai 121 trail to the Segavecchia refuge. With a long ascent we reach Passo del Lupo pass and continuing on the Cai 111 trail we find the path leading to Portafranca (Cai101).

With the last of our energy we arrive at Poggio dei Malandrini passing through the Nevaia pass and then finally begin the descent to the Montanaro refuge. We continue to descend and once we reach the Devil's Foot pass we take the Cai 53 trail. The trail turns out to be a real treat very steep and challenging from top to bottom but completely doable.

At the bottom a small ladder takes us fording the dry creek and continuing we find ourselves on the dirt road that leads to the sports field. The tour offers remarkable panoramic views dominated by the imposing mass of the Corno alle Scale with the Nuda at its side.
