Colle d'Orano
Nice pairing of descents, definitely challenging. Start at Colle d'Orano (Elba Island) and climb by asphalt to Marciana and from there by the forest road and then the steep Via Crucis to the Sanctuary of Madonna del Monte. Here follow the scenic trail to serraventosa and then after a short descent climb up to Troppolo (technical climb all doable by e-bike). At Troppolo you keep left and begin the long and challenging trail to Pomonte; the first section is very trialistic among boulders and firm rocks with steps (90% rideability), spectacular views of the coast. Then the trail becomes smoother but still very technical. The final section improves again (100% bikeability) until the arrival in Pomonte. Here you take the scenic trail to Chiessi (technical climb and descent on rocks, with 100% bikeability) .
From Chiessi by asphalt you return Colle d'Orano and climb back to Marciana. This time you follow the integral Via Crucis to climb to Madonna del Monte. Then follow the same path to get to Toppolo and this time keep right. Descent to the traffic light and before you get there you take right Colle d'Orano trail. Descent over rocky, firm rock and boulder, more flowing dirt sections, but the overall a very technical and challenging descent (90-95% bikeability). Also very scenic. When you reach the asphalt right and in a short time you arrive at Colle d'Orano.
