Porta Prada, Rifugio Bietti

Spectacular tour for scenery, environment and descent. It climbs on asphalt passing by Esine Lario (the only fountain on the climb).

After a few kilometers the real offroad climb begins. A nice trail, rideable with emtb with some push passages. After about 20 meters push it digs in and continues to Porta Prada. From here if you want you can turn back and take the fast alternative trail (yellow).

Or continue to the Bietti refuge. This is a trail with beautiful views, on a midslope not very narrow, rideable (especially with emtb) for many sections, with some pushing passages but not excessively heavy. After about 1 hour you reach the hut.

From here starts a nice descent initially with some not too technical passages and then flow to the hut. From the hut after a short climb begins a flow descent with some raises that ends with a spectacular descent, nice technical, not too narrow, all rocky on boulders but nice firm and with excellent grip. From the church of Santa Maria continues less technical but always nice rocky Later arrived in Mandello very boring staircase that I recommend to avoid and then last fast downhill.
