Monte Stino e sentiero dei 136 tornantini

Start from Idro on the lake of the same name, large free parking lot near the sports center. Ascend on asphalt (there is also a steep mule track, possibly for electric bikes from Belvedere). The asphalt road after a tunnel (remember the lights) is also steep, but with little traffic. We reach the San Rocco pass where we draw breath before the final 600 meters, also steep, up to Monte Stino located at 1,410 meters. I recommend stopping at the Monte Stino refuge to refresh yourself with some delicious food prepared by the managers. We now continue to the vantage point with a sheer view of the Eridio, with the remains of military posts from World War I. From here our trail begins. The first 3 switchbacks are to be pushed as they are infeasible in the saddle, after which begins the beautiful Mount Stino trail that will take us back to the lakeshore. Some of the switchbacks are easy, doable even without nosepress, others narrower, a few are full of roots and require good riding technique to be done in the saddle. It is a great exercise to master the bike and NOT drift or cut corners, because the trail is a true work of art with some fantastic views of the lake when the forest thins out. If you are not capable, push on, or go back up and try to do them again by dosing the brakes well.

When you reach the bottom, walk along the lake and you can stop at the village's homemade ice cream shop before returning to the car.
