Roveta
A classic collection of downhill runs at the Roveta Bike Park. Start from the Scandicci parking lot and ride up the paved road; just before Casignago, turn right onto the dirt road of Via delle Cave, then continue on the dirt path. At a junction, keep left, and after a short steep section, take the trail on the right that climbs gradually (with a few short steep sections) up to the forest road past the Valicaia rest area. Here, follow the forest road, then the trail, and finally a short stretch of paved road to reach Pian del Cerri. Here, take the beautiful single track that winds up in switchbacks (Travel Gum) to the start of the Sughera. The descent is quite challenging in the first section with technical sections over rock steps, then a few more flowing sections, but still rock steps, steep sections, drops, jumps, and another nice technical section over rock at the end.
Climb back up the paved road to Pian dei Cerri and this time keep to the right side to reach the start of the Buca del Lupo via an easy forest road. A nice little trail, very flowy with some challenging jumps and the final stream jump. Climb back up a nice, gradual trail to Pian dei Cerri and from there head to take the new trail starting from Poggio al Pino (Roky Rod): a short but fun flowy route with small jumps, banked turns, and a few steep sections. Climb back up to La Catena and head up the hill for the fun Zibib single track. Climb back to La Catena and the start of the final trail: La Poggiona. A beautiful, flowing route with jumps, banked turns, steep sections, and a few more technical stretches—all very flowing. Continue straight ahead along the meadows (alternatively, take the tough single-track climb up to Casignago). The trail turns right past a small ford and climbs on asphalt to the beautiful Pieve di S. Alessandro a Giogoli. Then a dirt road descends toward Via di Vingone, and from there, return on asphalt to Scandicci.
Difficulty: S3 with some S4 sections
