Medelana, Bionda e Casamento

Excursion to Medelana with Bionda and Casamento From Bologna following the bike path you reach Talon Park and from here by bike path and dirt road Castel dei Rossi and then by secondary roads to Sasso Marconi.Follow the dirt road along reno to Fontana and then go up by asphalt/ dirt road to Iano and from here go up to the end of the road and then by trail to the Medelana crossroads. Go up again by trail to get to the Bionda attack. Nice technical descent, over rock and stone, with steps and with some variants, always however challenging. Pass Molino Oggioleda and go up by trail, asphalt and then dirt road to the ridge road.

Short stretch of asphalt and then take the trail to the Casamento trailhead. The classic route has now become a trialist track, with outcropping rocks, steep steps and deep gullies (there are some somewhat smoother variations, but still pretty tough).You descend to the valley via Casola and then on the Porrettana road to Fontana. You follow the route taken on the outward journey, but at Ganzole you go up the dirt road to Pieve del Pino and then asphalt road to Sabbiuno. You keep to the right and descend on a dirt road into the Savena valley and from here by bike paths and secondary roads back to Bologna.
