Farault, Bellino, Maniglia
Concatenation of 3 3000 m peaks (the Bellino is something less) in an unusual key i.e. starting from Sant Anna di Bellino. The first ramps are steep and lead to the colle di Vers from where the first descent into the Maira valley starts, which in the final part tends to disappear a bit due to the presence of long-stem grass, but shortly the route is found again, a forestry route that connects with the ascent route to the Carmagnola bivouac. The classic normal leads up Bellino peak, but given the season and the wonderful temperatures we go the other way up to Farault. 3,000-meter summit easy to reach on singletrack with scree bottom. Descent along the same route to then climb Bellino summit: an almost obligatory passage on a classic cycle mountaineering (and other) peak. Descend on the opposite side for about a hundred meters to the pass and then turn and re-enter the Varaita valley. After 300 meters you reach some malghe (shepherd's huts), from here you start to climb following the signs for the Maniglia.
The trail quickly takes an incline and you carry the bike on the shoulder. When you reach the shoulder, the last 400 meters are easier and you will soon reach the summit (3177 meters). From here you descend to the car, partly by the path made uphill and then continuing in the "barricades." Never extreme nor impassable, there is no shortage of exposed sections, natural drops but also loose ground and streams. The classic alpine environment, but with a strong impact both for the high altitude views, the huts, the quality of the trails.
