Piombino Trail Area

Trail routes in order:

• Viperone
• Poggio Tondo

• 609, Le Croste, Fosso alle Canne.

The climbs are almost all on trail: passable, yes, but with challenging inclines that test the legs. As the data indicate, you never climb very high (the highest point is at 290 meters), but it is a constant up and down that forces constant changes of pace. The descents, while short, are technical, fast and a lot of fun. The effort is rewarded by well-maintained natural trails and spectacular views overlooking the sea. A perfect mix for those who enjoy MTB in wild but picturesque environments. For the return trip we chose the fastest route, namely asphalt. However, those who still have energy can take an extra climb to enjoy the last descent: Il Sogno Etrusco, which ends at the beautiful beach of Baratti.
