Elba Ovest 2
Compilation of descents in the West side of the Island of #elba. Departure from Colle d'Orano and ascent by asphalt to Marciana and then to Poggio. Here you take the path that leads to Madonna del Buonconsiglio and shortly after follow the Cai 117 signs and then the orange bolli. The trail is uphill then becomes a traverse, but the bottom in places is ruined by wild boars, so the rideability is 90%.Once over the top just above Redinoce you descend to Poggio san Prospero (technical descent very rutted because of the recent rains) until you take the forest road to S.Ilario (on the right). From here go up to Monte Perone via the forest road (in good condition except for a very rutted steep so 10 meters on foot). From Monte Perone descend to the pistini area of S. Piero and climb to Masso alla Guata.
Descent of Cielo Alto, which needs no introduction; in excellent condition the upper part (steep over rock, steps, trialiastic passages), a little rutted in the lower part. On the forest road take a left and then another left to climb back to the pistini area. Descent to Zucca 1 (flow track that alternates jumps and technical passages) and then continue on the nice track (also technical with steep and tough passages) to S.Piero. Then proceed by tarmac to S.Ilario and before you get there take a right onto a small road and then a left.
Here begins a nice descent that descends to Marina di Campo. Flow track, but with technical passages and a nice steep section. Back up to S.Ilario and then to Monte Perone, pistini area, this time Zucca 2 and on the forest road you keep right to take the Case Vecchie descent (the natural continuation of Masso alla Guata). The trail is quite rutted and some passages almost infeasible, however the rideability does not drop below 90%. You reach Cavoli and from there Colle d'Orano by asphalt.
