Anello Capranica Scalo - Monte Fogliano
It is a route that can be done starting from Rome by taking the train to Viterbo getting off at Capranica Scalo station and returning to Rome by train. It is preferable to do it in non-rainy periods. Several variants are included in the route to minimize transit on the SS2 Cassia state road.
It starts from Capranica Scalo station following the track to the first "Wp "BivioDxDiretto-SxVersoSS2eRisalita" where you can proceed by turning right to pass inside the village of Capranica or continue left,(Beware if you continue left, the transit marked at the next Wp "ProbabileCancello-turn back on variant NoCassia1" may be impossible so you must turn back and follow the track that passes inside Capranica) .
The two tracks rejoin at the Wp "da via Cassia" you continue always on dirt road to the next Wp "BivioDxDiretto-SxVersoSS2eRisalita" if you follow the left track you go straight to the Sp87 road while if you go right you go back down to the SS2 Cassia, you walk a short stretch of it and get onto the Sp87 turning right. The tracks rejoin the Wp " Sp87 to the right" continue to the junction of Sp86 and Sp87 and take the path to the left until it intersects the Sp88. you follow the track and shortly, after you reach the church of Sant'Angelo. You continue following the track until you return to cross the SS2 Cassia, cross it and still following the track you return to the Capranica Scalo station.
More or less you cover 40 km depending on the variants and the elevation gain is around 1500 meters, difficulty S2.
