Passo Castrin offroad da Merano

This is a classic ride that we usually do in late winter, all on asphalt because there is still a lot of snow in the woods, to start training our legs for summer rides. Instead, this is the summer version, almost all off-road.

Merano - Lana on bike path, then up to the Palade pass first on the via Crucis, then via del Mulini and then toboggan run with borderline gradients.

From the pass descend to Senale on path and climb to the Castrin pass via forestry and forest trails. At the Castrin hut dutiful food break with beautiful views.

Then final descent on trails to Val d'Ultimo, with some rather challenging sections and return to Merano. Ideal for e-mtb because of the significant gradients!
