Erto - Rifugio Maniago - Casera Bedin - Cava Buscada - CAI381
Cycloaplinistic route with ascent on asphalt, dirt road and trail to Rifugio Maniago, up and down trail with many portions taken to Cava Buscada and descent on very technical trail to Erto.
We start from Erto and climb on asphalt to Casera Mela, continue to climb on dirt road in a wild environment with splendid views, the road becomes path CAI381 little rideable until Rif.Maniago, where we enjoy an excellent view and fill our water bottles for the last time. We descend again from the same path, simple with a dirt and gravel bottom, then up and down continuously in the direction of Casera Bedin. Many relaunches also steep and earth bottom among the grass with outcropping rocks, not all rideable, very rewarding to the eye. From the casera continue with initial part more on the saddle, exposed and moderately technical, with non-saddle passages, with some very steep shoulder bike sections, with last part very smooth and fast in the woods, very enjoyable. You reach the dirt road that goes up to Cava Buscada and the nearby refuge, climb to the entrance of the quarry now an open-air industrial museum. The trail starts on a hairpin bend, very impassable, and then becomes more tractable despite the very saggy, gravel-like gully bottom between the bushes and the woods, with very steep sections, it feels like running on eggs. Only short more flowing sections in the woods and after a final gravel section we reach the village where we close the loop.
