Lago di Santa Croce - Nevegal - Monte Faverghera - trail TV1
Route with long climb in steep sections to Mt. Faverghera, descent on steep and technical TV1 trail to Fadalto, tour of the lake almost all on bike path and dirt road, partly on busy asphalt.
Start from Secca, north of Lake Santa Croce, ride counterclockwise around the perimeter of the lake for 1.8km, turn right into railroad underpass and immediately climb with increasing gradients to the road leading to Nevegal, beyond which continue uphill to the Refuge-Restaurant where the asphalt ends. Possible additional variant is to visit the giant bench at the end of the new dirt road that cuts through the woods to the ski slope, then return to the restaurant. From here the dirt road in places cemented is very steep, at the limit of rideability and in 2 km covers the remaining elevation gain to the former Rifugio Brigata Alpini next to the summit at Monte Faverghera. The TV1 trail begins on grassland to descend very scenic between sods, to become steeper and in places plunged into the woods, with a slippery, moving bottom at times. The crashes are not many, which cannot be said of the second part of the trail, after retracing downhill a short stretch of asphalt, it climbs at times pushing up to descend briefly again to Fadalto, where you return on asphalt, first secondary and then busy, to the beginning of the lake (avoid trail attempt), to Poiatte, where you descend on the small bicycle/pedestrian path that leads to the far north, where you return to asphalt (due to gates on the embankment) to close the loop.
38km, 60% asphalt-10% dirt-30% trails.
