Forte Campo Luserna
This is one of the most interesting rides in the entire pre-Alpine arc A tough but off-traffic climb immersed in beautiful surroundings, a beautiful descent that brings us back down into the valley and a place rich in history where it is worth taking 10 minutes to visit the Great War Fort and to read a few anecdotes told by the sculptures along the way.
We start from the hamlet of Casotto in Val d'Astico and with an ascent that alternates between steep stretches and stretches where we breathe takes us to the top of the Luserna plateau in the Vezzena/Lavarone area
We follow the signs "sentiero dell'immaginario" that, immersed in the woods, will lead us to Malga Campo, a beautiful place where you can stop for lunch. Although the new management offers gourmet dishes, if instead, like me, you prefer a more down-to-earth cuisine, I suggest you go down to Luserna and stop at the Rossi's. We continue along the forest road and in a short time you reach Fort Luserna, which I recommend you visit.
All along the way there are statues/sculptures that will tell you many anecdotes and folk tales from that period. From the fort there is a small path that takes us to the village of Luserna from where the actual descent begins that will take us back down into the valley. The trail is CAI 601, for me one of the most beautiful bike trails in the area, very varied, alternating flowing sections, technical sections, hairpin bends-everything you need to have a great time. Difficulty S2/S3.
