ENDURO DI PONENTE 2^ TAPPA: IL MELOGNO

We continue this long journey westward, and as our second stop we honor the famous MELOGNO for an endless and thrilling descent.

I wanted to climb Melogno from the east side, passing through a beautiful area below Bric della Croce and Carbuta. The first section on asphalt road but then soon begin olive and chestnut trees on a pedalable and magnificent mule track that will take us on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri to Madonna della Neve. From this point short stop and then we take the Trincea and Terre Alte Din trail to the Melogno locality. From here the Collarina will take us to the entrance of the famous Roller Coaster Trail. To describe it is reductive but I can only tell you that it is one of the most significant trails in the area with flow, jumps, slides, banks, rock, compression, up & down to be experienced to the fullest. When we reach the church of San Pantaleo we return to asphalt for a short while and deviate to the right. The quiet U Millin trail begins, followed by the Methane Pipeline. When we reach near the highway overpass we will have to climb back up to Gorra on a trail that is initially difficult but then more rideable. Short but intense. at this point trail Gorra and to follow Church of the Alpini vertical and slightly bumpy and we will return to the starting point. I am sure you will have enjoyed it.
