Il Monte Carone e Cima di Mughera sul n.101
An amazing and definitely All Mountain tour where you will admire Lake #garda in all its beauty, riding military trails and an intense, fun and very scenic descent in the first section.
When it comes to Garda, it is clear that the tour is already magical. This one, besides being really very magical is also hard in some sections but what you will see will repay all your efforts. We start in Limone sul Garda and go up on a paved road to Ustecchio where we will leave the main road to take us out of the chaos always going up to the Balze. From here in no time we reach Vesio to tackle Val di Bondio, a magical valley full of streams that interrupt the silence from time to time. There will be 16 hairpin bends to reach first the Pedercini refuge then the Nota Pass. The Passo Nota refuge was carved out of an old finance barracks and you will find there, as evidence of wartime pasts, a cannon, mortars and some bullets placed by the side of the road. After a well-deserved stop we continue in the direction of Bocca dei Fortini. Here dearest the tranquility ends and we prepare for about a serious hour of All Mountain. A first section we pedal then gradually we will have to push the MTB up to the hardest section where there will be a lanyard, a very steep vertical staircase where we have to be very careful. Once this obstacle is overcome, one last pushing section and we finally reach the Croce di Carone overlooking the entire Lake Garda. Photo op and rest before starting the descent. Vertical and slightly bumpy then wild flow with a few switchbacks will take you over Baita Segala. From here a section of very wide dirt road, turning left, will allow you to reach Passo Guil. Now watch out: we will have to slightly descend before climbing again, bike on the shoulder but only for two minutes, to the stupendous Cima di Mughera where again Lake Garda will show itself to you, this time even more impressively. Enjoy. Well well now again super descent on the famous No. 101 full of hairpin bends, at times flowing, at times wild at times bumpy and at times rock n' roll. I'd say you'll be thrilled even if there will be a final stretch on the cobbled n.117 without too many complications but inevitable to return to that of Limone sul Garda.
RECOMMENDED ROUTE FOR ALL MOUNTAIN BIKE ( E-BIKE I would say not because the portage section is very hard and narrow )
NB: At the time of entry this ride is all doable without any particular problems. We disclaim any responsibility for any inconvenience due to lack of maintenance of the trails or deterioration of the same due to external and/or natural agents and a wrong assessment of the tour.
