Nuvola Rossa, Bionda e Casamento

Nice hike in the Bologna hills between MonteMario and Medelana with three of the most challenging descents. Start in Bologna, Rastignano and then bike path along Savena to Junior, then uphill on dirt road to Sabbiuno, Pieve del Pino, via delle Orchidee and Prati di Mugnano. Commenda and from here the beautiful Nuvola Rossa trail (with nice peppery passages) to Battedizzo, drop-off at the crossroads and trail to Sasso M. then bike path to Fontana, ascent to Iano (a couple of landslides with hand passages), then start of the Bionda to Molino Oggioleda. Ascent and as second descent the Casamento, which after the last June-July rains is definitely dug in and very challenging. Return by bike path along Reno and then bike path to Margherita Gardens.
