Rifugio Scalorbi
We start from Giazza at an altitude of 790 meters, the last inhabited settlement at the end of Val d'Illasi. We have 13 km of ascent and 1000 meters of elevation gain ahead of us to reach Rifugio Scalorbi, they are well pedaled with a constant gradient. We enter the Revolto Valley on asphalt and after a little less than 8 km we reach the refuge of the same name at an altitude of1140, from now on the road will be unpaved. At the tenth kilometer we pass the Passo Pertica Refuge at an altitude of 1530 meters and at the bottom of the valley we catch a glimpse of the outline of the Scalorbi Refuge at an altitude of 1770 meters, which we reach after the last 3 km.
Having taken a well-deserved break we resume uphill in the direction of Passo Plische at 1990 meters, having reached the pass there now awaits us 1 km of descent and 200 meters of negative elevation gain in the direction of Passo della Lora or delle 3 Croci; in this stretch (S4) for us to stay on the bike was really complicated and we therefore descended bike by the side, everyone is free to try.
Arriving at Passo della Lora a 1.3 km climb for 150 meters of elevation gain awaits us, the climb is difficult but not impossible, the bottom is treacherous, the path narrow and often exposed, everyone will decide how to proceed, we pedaled where we felt safe and walked when the risk of flying down was too high. Fortunately the section is not too long and does not require shouldering, pushing the bike will suffice.
Arriving at Passo Zevola at 1820 meters the bulk of our exertions are over, we put on our protective gear and let go on nice trail towards Malga Fraselle di Sopra at 1628 meters, we continue towards Passo Scagina at 1540 meters which we reach after 21 km from the start. In front of us Malga Fraselle di Sotto behind which we take trail 281 that with up/downhill trend with excellent bottom will take us after 2.5 km to the attack of the final descent.
Trail 282 is 2.5 km long and is a billiard, crazy flow for about 2 km, the last 500 meters present some hairpin bends never too tight, boulders and steps that will further entertain us until we reach the cemented and then paved road in Val Fraselle. One more kilometer and we will be at the parking lot where this adventure began.
