Al Rifugio Valbella e Dardo nell'Alta Lessinia
Pleasant and scenic route in the upper Lessinia. Very beautiful and satisfying are two long dirt sections in the typical environment of the upper Lessinia. The first begins shortly after the junction of Malga Volpina and, with a hard climb in an open field among lonely pastures and mountain pastures, leads to Passo di Prealda Bassa. From the pass short scorbutic ramp (if you wanted, you could climb to Monte Cornetto) and then fun and easy dirt descent on grassy track to Passo delle Fittanze. This section is very scenic and I recommend it as a good alternative to the famous dirt track that passes further south (in the middle section the two descents run close and parallel).
The second connects the two refuges of Valbella and Dardo via a little-used but very interesting route. This section also has some scurvy ramps but with good leg you can do it all in the saddle. From the Dardo refuge steep but not difficult descent and return to Erbezzo on a paved road. The route although short and with low elevation gain is quite physically demanding due to the frequent ramps with steep gradients. Technically there are no challenging sections, all that is needed is a minimum of handle on rocky sections on path.
Note - If desired, the trail can be easily extended starting from Passo delle Fittanze northward. For example, going up towards Malga Lavacchietto and Malga Lessinia and then rejoining the dirt road leading to the Valbella refuge.
