Cima Branca e ponti tibetani
Tour immersed in fabulous scenery, a little tiring because you carry the bike for a long time. It starts from the Forni public parking lot and climbs on comfortable dirt road, which, however, becomes quite steep before the Branca hut. From the refuge begins the long ride almost exclusively by bike to Cima Branca. Be careful from the Rosole plain as the path is not marked, there is only a few cairns of stones and it is easy to lose the track, try rather to follow the gps. From the plain up to the summit also the trail becomes difficult as it is quite steep and on uneven ground. When you reach the summit enjoy the view which is nothing short of fabulous.
The descent from this first section will be barely feasible on the pedals, roughly about 50 percent, unless you have exceptional technique. Arriving at Piana delle Rosole it is preferable to go freeriding, given also the absence of trail signaling, and in any case it is great fun as you stay on the sides of the glacial lake on mixed terrain with scree and stones fixed to the ground. The next section will be all on the ridge to the glacial moraine, amazing.
Once you reach the Branca hut again, proceed in the direction of the Tibetan bridges (low glacial path), there is a section of about 5 minutes of shoulder biking on large boulders, if you wish you can head towards the terminal part of the glacier, this segment was not been included in the gps, you will do another short section of shoulder biking on more large boulders and then dive into the final section, very fast and very flowy, there are only a couple of passages that may put you a little in trouble.
In closing, a challenging trail but one that gives immense excitement for the views in which you ride.
