Cavlera - 528 special
Here we are with another super fun route from our area, the Seriana Valley.
Some technical data: distance: 25 km - time on the move: 2.30 hours - total elevation gain: 950m - maximum elevation: 1200m - cyclability: 98% - suitable for MTB XC/AM/ENDURO.
Mount Cavlera is a mountain of the middle Seriana Valley little known but not without charm, very beautiful and relaxing; the area is a succession of mountain meadows dotted with old huts largely well preserved and restored.
Leaving the car in Fiorano al Serio (BG) we head toward Vertova; after a hard climb, the road flattens out and moves away from the houses into the woods and after a few hairpin bends we reach the famous church of San Patrizio.
We continue uphill on an asphalt road, pass through the village of Rezzo and finally reach the hamlet of Bondo di Colzate and then Barbata.
The asphalt now gives way to dirt road, meadow and finally, having reached the edge of the forest, we have to push the bike uphill for about 300 meters and then continue on a wide flat path.
The hard climb is over; it's time to have fun!
After a few ups and downs, between concrete and dirt, the real single track begins: trail #528.
The trail immediately alternates between rideable and flowing sections with others that are a bit more challenging and technical, you need a fair amount of physical preparation and experience to overcome them while riding our bike.
Afterwards, the trail becomes faster and less technical until we reach the very famous Val Vertova, touted for its cool, crystal-clear waters; then we return to our starting point.
