Monte Fogliano

Itinerary with climbs on forestry and sometimes single track and descents on single track on Monte Fogliano, prevelentemetne in the forest. I report that new MTB trails have recently been created at Monte Fogliano, which we explored in this itinerary, in addition to the routes already proposed by the park and rideable by MTB.

The start, just outside Cura di Vetralla, is at a dirt area where you can park on Sant'Angelo Street, on the right just after the level crossing. There is a picnic area and a fountain. There is a large sign with a map of the trails in the area. We climbed three times up to the "Cima Coppi," and from there we took three different trails, I remember the names of the Discord and the Jump Line. However, the area lends itself to different interpretations, including definitely more cross country. We also rode a short section of the "XCO" trail. We rode the loop last July 2 and despite the hot and humid day it was fine until lunchtime.

The area is very pleasant, with beautiful scenic views and consistently mild temperatures. Flies may be present in full summer. The only other fountain in the area is in the parking lot under the convent, which we did not reach, however.
