Le Porraie Via Pradarena
Beautiful traverse of the Apennine ridge from Pradarena Pass to Romecchio Pass.
Departure from the village of Sillano, but if you wish you can also do it from Metello to end the trip right after the descent. We follow provincial road 12 to the Pradarena Pass (1579 meters) where we abandon the asphalt in favor of trail 00 where we begin the ridge crossing that leads to the Romecchio Pass. The trail transits under the peaks of Mount Asinara and Mount Sillano, and near the latter the path turns from a forest road into a proper trail continuing and passing near the peaks of Soraggio and Porraie. Not entirely rideable, some pushing or back-biking is required. The trail is ultra scenic and very enjoyable on the downhill sections.
Arriving at the Romecchio Pass, marked by the small Chapel of St. Bartholomew, we begin a long and beautiful descent on Cai 74, a beautiful trail that leads us to the village of Metello, Arriving at the village, if you have decided to start from the latter, I recommend taking advantage of the small Osteria in the village. Otherwise, all that remains is to follow the road that passing through the villages of Soranda, Villa and Rocca Soraggio leads to Sillano.
My advice is to make the tour in October when the whole landscape is covered in the beautiful autumn colors of foliage and the rust red of the blueberry bushes.
