Alpe di Vallestrina Cai 681 laghetto del Capriolo
From the Ligonchio sports field we climb the Presa Alta forest road to the Lama Lite pass (1749 m) to continue in the direction of Passone following Cai 615. When we reach the Screaming Cross we continue on Cai 607 to below the Alpe di Vallestrina. The trail would continue to the Fox Pass but this time we decide to climb this never explored peak. Compared to the nearby Ravino done on several occasiomi the Alpe is not cyclable except for the short initial section where we take the usual photos.
Immediately after this short stretch an obvious trail comes off to the left losing itself in the grassy ridge of the Alpe and then in the forest below, unfortunately none of my maps show it but apparently cyclable I will surely return to explore it. Continuing on the ridge we have to improvise a freeride descent, which I recommend taking first into an obvious gully on the right. Reaching the trail below we follow it to the Fox Pass or Bocca di val Calda.
While the descent from the summit was an unknown, Cai 681 turns out to be pleasant with the first part on the slope only to be swallowed up in the forest. Crossing the forest road, the trail continues to Case Cattalini but we gain some elevation for the second descent of the day on the very but very enjoyable Cai 631a or Cavallina Trail. We are more or less halfway through the tour and after a stop at the San Leonardo refuge in Dolo we resume uphill on Cai 605 arriving at the Sawmill at Abetina Reale.
Continuing to climb we must reach the Lama Lite pass again. Finally the ascent is over and we head towards the Bargeta refuge to continue in the direction of the fork but just before we get there at an altitude of about 1700 we leave the trail in favor of a detour to the right that passing under Mount Ravaianda leads to the Romecchio pass to end the tour with a long downhill trail that ends near the Presa alta dam that passes near the dry but recognizable Roe deer pond from which the trail takes its name.
