Spiz Zuel from the Grava
A classic of Val di Zoldo, practically all rideable uphill. Unrepeatable views from the summit and 800m of flow on the descent, not to mention the return via Cercenà. Overall S2, with a few easier sections and a very short more difficult section at the start. The technical section just before Cercenà should not be underestimated.
From Dont climb to Chiesa and then, paved but still deserted, to Malga Grava. Continue on excellent track uphill to Forcella dei Tolp, where the trail up from Pecol crosses, a possible alternative. Still up to the spring and, just beyond, leave the main trail that would lead to the Agnellessa peak for a grassy but still rideable track that, past a passive repeater, leads to the pass just below the peak.
A short digression to the summit of Spiz Zuel is obligatory.
Back to the pass you face a few meters a bit blocked and then the Single Track begins, on a track always well evident.
Just above 1700m elevation the trail crosses the meadow of Casera Canazzè, watch the direction if the grass is high.
With a leftward trend you go to cross the stream on the recently rebuilt small bridge, then down again seamlessly to the Fusine Cemetery.
To the right below the cemetery starts the small road to Cercenà, which becomes a technical single track on false ground and counter slope in the second half of the trail. There is no incline so a good amount of balance is required, beware. From Cercenà nice and easy again to Foppa. Short digression to avoid asphalt to descend again to Sottorogno and Dont.
Good fun. Paul
