Bagno di Romagna Carabina Trogo Chiardovo Freeride
Romagna is a land of natural and magnificent trails. Start from Bagno di Romagna and, on a bicycle path, go down to San Piero in Bagno, cross the center of the town and go up, first on an asphalt road then on a comfortable forest road, passing through the villages of Raggio, la Vetrice and Fonte Abate, for about 500 meters of elevation gain. Once you reach the ridge on a small ramp, take the path that runs along it on the right and follow it (path FC 201) until you reach the vicinity of Mount Piano. From here you take an unmarked trail and reach a nice vantage point, from which you descend to join trail No. 07, which remains on the ridge at that point, and hold it until you meet the entrance to the unmarked Carabina Trail.
The natural descent of the Carabina is technical and winds first through the woods, with steep descents with tight switchbacks, roots and boulders. It then tackles a few pieces of ridge with rocky passages and steps and runs it without a breather until it reaches the valley where it arrives near the Cà Veroli Refuge. From the Refuge take the easy forest road keeping the stream on the right and follow it to a picnic area beyond the stream that you cross over the bridge. After the bridge begins the very long climb up the Strabatenza roadway that reaches the ridge and follows it.
You then come to a junction with the path going up from the Ridracoli dam to Casanova dell'Alpe and follow it. At Casanova dell'Alpe you will find the entrance to the Trogo descent, also descending into the woods with petrous and technical sections until you reach the valley floor again. After crossing the bridge over the stream, you enter the forest road that from Cà Veroli reaches Pietrapazza.
You then begin, on forestry, the last climb of the day that reaches the ridge at Colla di Rio d'Olmo. Just in front you take the path downhill and keeping left at the first fork you reach the start of the Chiardovo Freeride. Fun and technical trail that develops part in the woods with uncovered sections of ridge, passages on rocks also very stepped one of which also to be done with hand bike. The trail, continues the fun descent until it reaches Bagno di Romagna.
