Morbegno Trails
Itinerary covering some trails near Morbegno, on the Orobic part of Valtellina. The trails are kept clean by the 360 Valtellina Bike association. We started from the Mondo Ebike parking lot as Paolo, the owner, was our guide, as you can see from the video. We did the tour by ebike but it can also be done by bike.
From Morbegno we climb quite steeply up to Val Gerola on an old cart track that just in these weeks they should fix to make it easier.
It is about 500 meters of elevation gain to get to Sacco, where there is a first short descent on a trail and then up to Sasso Rosso, where the real descent begins. This is at first on a fairly narrow trail with steep forest to the side, then becomes wider, with nice passages over rocks and roots and a fabulous forest floor.
A traverse on trail follows to get to Petascia and face the last downhill section among blueberries.
Arriving in Cosio Valtellino we followed the Adda bike path toward the lake to go to the pumptrack. Done a few laps there, back to Morbegno and the car.
In the video is the first day:
