I sentieri di Polcenigo

Route mostly on trails, continuous ups and downs and pleasant views of the foothills.

Start in Polcenigo from a parking lot just outside the center toward Coltura. You enter an indoor parking lot next to the town hall and, descending a narrow, steep staircase at a confluence of a small stream and the river that runs through the town, ford the stream and climb the little trail on the other side. You follow the main path almost flat into the woods, round a hill and come out on the asphalt. Left and then climb up the Colle San Floriano, site of a wonderful rural park. Among the paths, the views are also pleasant. You descend on a small road to the left just before reaching the restaurant at the end of the park cart track. You pass through the village of San Giovanni, turn left onto Via Pizzoch and climb the hills to descend back to the other side.

Follow the path parallel to the road and on ups and downs you come out in Budoia, which you cross to come out in open country on cart tracks. Continue by turning left at two rather visible intersections. The goal is to follow the railroad track to Castel d'Aviano, to climb back into the village on the left just before the large golf course. Immediately afterwards turn left with large inclines, then continue on the asphalt following the bike path signs. After about 200m from the start of the cart track on the left take the barely visible path to the right, which you follow until you reach a "country" farmhouse, cross the main road and follow the path up the mountain (follow Artugna trail). Arduous climb of about 3km very bumpy and steep, but rewarding. It descends on trails to the waterfalls....
