Monte Rite - Forno di Zoldo

Super scenic route with ascent from Forno di Zoldo on asphalt to Passo Cibiana, on dirt road to Monte Rite, up and down on trail to Monte Pera and down to road near Passo Cibiana, descent on trail and sections of dirt road to valley.

Start at a parking lot near Forno di Zoldo and climb on medium gradient asphalt to Cibiana Pass almost always in the shade of the forest and few panoramic openings to the valley. Climb the dirt road to the left that leads to Monte Rite, of similar gradient and always rideable. As you climb, the spectacular views make up for the effort and at the top you can enjoy a 360-degree view, among the grass and some fortifications from the Great War. You continue along the trail down to the ridge passing above the Messner Museum and descend on a dug and sometimes rocky, technical and fun trail with some hairpin bends, then enter the woods and become very smooth and with few changes of direction, potentially very fast but with sometimes treacherous bottom.

You reach the asphalt road again near Passo Cibiana and this time go down to the right past the casera and continue on the dirt road for about 1.5km and take a path to the right on a bend that enters the woods and up and down makes its way through the crashes. To date there are 6 or 7 crashes to overcome but clearing work is ongoing. Very fun slalom with soft bottom and you reach the dirt road a short distance from the road. Continue uphill to the right (Casera Castelin road) which starts with a medium gradient and then increases to the limit of rideability on a dirt road surface and, as it climbs, less and less compact.

You reach the summit deprived of views because of the dense and tall trees and from here you descend on a forest trail, with some technical passages and wide curves, getting smoother and smoother as you descend. The main trail has been modified due to numerous crashes, to avoid which you reach a dirt road early a short distance from the village of Forno di Zoldo, where you close the loop.
