Malga del Pozzo, malga Cavalli e Braies

Very challenging itinerary, especially for extreme climbs if done by mtb, ideal instead with e-mtb. Very nice though technical descents and wonderful views, with a finale at Lake Braies.

From Villabassa you go up to the Putzalm (malga del Pozzo) on a very steep little road, impossible to ride without a motor. With normal mtb, it is better to climb on the orographic left of the brook, still very steep but more rideable. From the alpine hut you will shortly reach the Capro pass and descend on the nice path to the Braies valley.

Then go up on forestry and trails to Ponticello, from here very steep road to malga Cavallo, also rideable completely with e-bike, half with normal mtb.

From malga Cavallo (refreshment stop with beautiful panorama) go up another hundred meters or so, then descend to lake Braies, partly on pedalable path, but expecting also 10 minutes pushing. You skirt Lake Braies and descend on trail 1 to Ferrara and then Villabassa.
