Monte Prado
Very scenic tour.
Departure from Casone di Profecchia to Passo delle Forbici. Descent over Abetina Reale refuge and then ascent on dirt road to Lama Lite Pass. Continue to Bargetana refuge and then up to Focerella. Now the most challenging (and most scenic) phase begins. You climb with bike on your back for about 30 minutes to reach the summit of Monte Castellino. On this climb there are spectacular views of the Porraie and Sillano. This is followed by a descent to the Prado saddle and then a mostly push climb (about 15 minutes) pe to the top of Prado. This is the "roof" of Tuscany with its 2054 m . Beautiful views of the Bargetana pond and the Cusna.
We then descend to the Scaloni pass (below Monte Vecchio) and then Bocca di Massa pass. We then continue through a beautiful beech forest to Passo dlle Forbici and from here return to the casone. Except for the 2 push climbs the tour is almost all rideable with an average technical downhill. Beautiful it is then in autumn with the typical colors of the Apennines.
