Tre Faggi - Sassello-Fiumicello - Tiravento - Premilcuore - Tre Faggi
Beautiful route created to combine the beauty of the Casentino Forests with a bit of adrenaline from Mt. Tiravento.
Departing from the Valico Tre Faggi, one travels along a short stretch of forestry and then jumps onto the new trail that leads to Bivacco Sassello (I remind users that unfortunately it is no longer accessible because some idiot set fire to it!) and then after a short ascent (be careful because along this stretch there are several points that close the road with electrified metal wires to keep cattle from passing, which in many cases are not very visible) we take the track that from Case Poderina leads to retrace the Rabbi, skirting it a little higher up until we rejoin the asphalt road before the detour to Fiumicello.
Be careful on this last stretch we took a track that in some places forces you to get out of the saddle for a few short climbs but it satisfies you because it passes by a splendid Ex Mulino now repurposed as a dwelling but which still has a perfectly intact gora on its side, a must-see!
You ride on asphalt for a stretch to get to Fiumicello and then go up on a dirt road past Pian dei Rocchi to the junction for Monte Tiravento, from here on be very careful because it is very exposed and the sandstone terrain lends itself very much to low grip.
Having said that it is a wonderful place with views over the whole part of Romagna (in some cases I think you can see the sea) and also once we got to a pine forest where the most enduro part of Tiravento passed , we descended a path that is not very easy because it is very rocky with obvious roots and boulders.
Arriving in Premilcuore we ate at the very nice Agriturismo Ridolla and then took a dip in the Cascata della Sega waterfall that is just down there.
After restarting, you go up by asphalt but with no cars because the road at the top is closed due to landslide, you follow the Valbura road to the pass and then take the panoramic dirt road that with slight ups and downs remaining always around 1000 m brings you to a junction where on the right you go down to San Benedetto in Alpe and instead on the left where we went you go along a nice single track in the beech forest to bring you back to the starting point.
Done in Emtb with battery recharge at Agriturismo Ridolla .
