Monte Olinie e piscine naturali di Bau Mela

Scenic and technically easy route.

The route starts from the village of Villanova Strisaili and immediately proceeds on first asphalt then dirt road to Mount Olinie, quite challenging climb but currently with fund in good condition, the last part of the climb is however a short singletrack difficult to ride uphill that will lead you to the forestry lookout, with exceptional views.

From here the route is absolutely smooth with stretches of asphalt (with little or no traffic) and long dirt roads in excellent condition, you will face a second shorter and less challenging climb always getting off the hill at about 1300m; from here you will alternate descents and slight climbs with some bumpy sections and reach the old SS389; the fantastic natural pools of Bau Mela you will encounter by deviating from this road for a few hundred meters and facing a short path to be done almost exclusively on foot; there are several paths that will lead you to the upper or lower part respectively; The return is always on the old SS389.
