GAMBARIE - REGGIO CALABRIA
Last stage of the Parks of Calabria Ciclovia. The route includes departure from Gambarie (1324 m), where the Observatory for Biodiversity is based, and climb to an altitude of 1366 m near the Mountain of Reggio from which begins the long descent that leads to the Petrulli Pass, and continues to the vicinity of the hamlet of Straorino (580 m). From here the route ascends to the Cartiera Fiumara and then descends on Via Reggio Campi in the direction of Terreti and Nasiti and arrives near the hill of the Hermitage of Our Lady of Consolation, the balcony over Reggio Calabria and the Strait of Messina. The route ends in the oldest city in Greek Calabria, about which the National Archaeological Museum, which houses the famous Riace bronzes, tells; finally, the itinerary skirts the Mediterranean on the Falcomatà waterfront, "the most beautiful kilometer in Italy."
