CANOLO - GAMBARIE

Itinerary with departure from Canolo (946 m), climb up toward the Aspromonte Plains. Passing the junction with the SP leading to Trepitò and Molochio and the Mundu and Galasia waterfalls, in a landscape marked by canyons and waterfalls, you encounter the pine forests of Piano dello Zillastro (1099 m) and arrive near the imposing sanatorium of Zervò (1152 m). From here you ascend toward Piano Pietra Cuccuma (1250 m) in a landscape that to the east, in the direction of San Luca, unveils gigantic monoliths such as that of Pietra Cappa, not far from the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Polsi and the ancient beech forest of Valle Infernale. After continuous ups and downs in altitude, touching 1349 m on the Guardiola, you descend on the SP3 and past the Sant'Eufemia junction, after 1.2 km you are near Garibaldi's Mausoleum and after 3.6 km you arrive in Gambarie d'Aspromonte (1324 m), a renowned ski resort. The route is part of the Parks of Calabria Ciclovia dei Parchi di Calabria.
