SAN SOSTI - FERRAMONTI - LAGO DI TARSIA

The route starts from San Sosti, the town of the splendid Sanctuary of Pettoruto and chestnut woods, descends on SP123 skirting the Rosa and Èsaro rivers, passes Mottafollone and proceeds in the direction of Pianette, a hamlet of Roggiano Gravina, and then descends along SP270 to 60 mslm to reach Ferramonti, where the largest Italian concentration camp of the Fascist era and the Museum of Memory were located. Continuing for about 7 km on a flat stretch, you arrive at the Lago di Tarsia Nature Reserve, the important wetland area along the course of the Crati River. The route is part of the Parks of Calabria cycle route.
