Laino Borgo - Morano Calabro

A very fascinating route with departure from Laino Borgo (at an altitude of 280 mslm), which preserves the ruins of the impregnable Lombard fortress, crosses Laino Castello and after about 14.5 km reaches Mormanno (830 m), the town of the delicious stuffed sweets called bocconotti and lentils, a Slowfood presidium; having passed the Lavender Park and climbed the slopes of the Serra, it reaches an altitude of 1050 m at Il Fortino, and then begins on the other side the descent to Morano Calabro (680 m), the charming medieval town in semicircles also known as the Pollino crib, recognized among the most beautiful villages in Italy. The route is for both mtb and gravel or road bikes, and is part of the Ciclovia dei Parchi di Calabria.
